Everyone likes tips. Especially effective tips.

Before the days of social media, if you went to a seminar you may be given a Tips Booklet to take away.

You’d throw it in your in-tray and refer to it from time to time.

What did you receive?

 Top 10 ways to…

 Effective ways to save money…

 Top 5 proven investment strategies…

How could you monetise your booklet?

Present a free webinar but offer customised booklets to all attendees for a modest fee.

How should your booklet look?

Exult the status of your tips booklet to e-Book:

eBooks can also position you as the expert on a topic or at least someone who has expertise or skills in a given area.

They can be used as lead magnets on your website to encourage visitors to leave their email address, whilst others sell them as products in their own right.

Sounds complex and techy? Not at all, I’d recommend using https://www.flipsnack.com/ where you can add links, download options etc.

What is the goal of your tips / ebook?

  1. Information for the reader but which encourages the reader to take the next step and then ask for your help which is the goal of most of my ebooks and I produce almost one a week!

2. Provide a solution to a specific problem eg. new legislation / tax regime

Be the greatest problem solver – people want to consume booklets that will:

 Save them time

 Save them or make them more money

 Help them avoid a pain-point

 Gain them faster results

 Increase their personal status

What should your enticing title be to gain attention?

Words to Consider:

Adjectives to use:

Everybody wants to be the smart guy, the go to person. This also, entirely subconsciously, creates a level of inclusion to new leads, who want to feel part of the exclusive world of “clever” people.

Do you feel that tips booklet is overdone? Try these:

Words to Consider:

I hear you, you’re also objecting to the word tips – try:

A large number at the beginning of your title is always a good thing. Your possible leads are far more likely to download “30 Savvy Investment Strategies for 2021” than they are five or ten.

Now, how to repurpose this as a social media post which you can then add to your “Featured” section here so people can immediately see it when they come to your profile?LinkedIn encourages “dwell time” and pushes posts out further if people, yes, dwell on them! The key to achieving this is to post the booklet / ebook as a pdf.

And that my friends is the key to the castle: To attach a document to a new post, click on the paper icon and navigate to the PDF, Word document, or PowerPoint you want to upload.

After you select your document, LinkedIn will upload it and display the dialog box below. From here, add a document title, text, and hashtags to improve visibility in search results.
