The Big 3 – July 14th 2020

The Big 3 newsletter gives 3 clear, simple and powerful ideas each week.

It shouldn’t take more than a couple of minutes to read but will give you more than a week’s worth of insight. I want this to be the most valuable email in your inbox.

So here goes – 1 big piece of advice for LinkedIn, 1 question to help you level up your business and 1 idea from a business icon.

Guide to LinkedIn hashtags1| Big piece of advice

Which hashtags are most effective for my business?

If you’re wondering which are the best hashtags to use here, you’ll have found that finding them is trial and error as LinkedIn does not have a tag “leaderboard” nor does it have a search function and there aren’t apps to do this.

Hashtags are not only for your content to be found a lot easier and pushed out further by LinkedIn, it’s for you to find similar content just as easily.

We’ve done some in-depth research on this and produced both a pdf of the best hashtags for the following industries: Finance (financial services/fintech), Property, Law and Recruitment.

2| Big question

How are you using the Pareto principle today?

The Pareto principle is a powerful one. It says that 80% of your success is likely coming from only 20% of your effort. And 80% of your effort is only yielding 20% of your success.

Take some time today to look at all areas of your business and ask ‘which of my investments (time/money) is yielding the least results for the most effort?’

Then stop doing it.

3| Big idea

“Your personal experiences make up maybe 0.00000001% of what’s happened in the world but maybe 80% of how you think the world works… We’re all biased to our own personal history.”.

Morgan Housel

It’s worth asking – how could your personal history be blinding you to making the right decisions today? Look for bias, work to remove it.

Until next week,
